That Gory Cartoon Film Conclusion That Haunts Fans

Out of every mature animated films I have ever watched, nothing has lingered in my mind quite like the terror-laced conclusion of a graphically gory and overwhelingly transgressive film from 2022 The Unicorn Wars.

Back in the year 2015, this Spanish writer-director created a grim, bleak , often savage world with a few small , forlorn hints of optimism.

While Unicorn Wars appears as it came from a desire to expand the medium even more, the filmmaker clarified that it was actually an effort to convey a widespread, multicultural theme concerning “the common origin of every conflict.”

That message is conveyed through a band of colorful pastel bears , obviously modeled after a popular line of cuddly figures.

Growing up in a society focused on militarism and the military-industrial complex, many of the bears are consumed by exterminating unicorns, because of a sacred text that claims the bears they used to be masters of the forest, before these creatures drove them out.

Others did not entirely accepted the brainwashing, and would rather experiment with drugs or fornicate outdoors.

Unlike their friendly equivalents, these bright beings show genitals and obvious sex drives.

For a particular notably brutal, cynical bear, the character Bluey, the war with unicorns becomes a route toward dominance — and specifically to authority over his gentler, more compassionate sibling the bear Tubby.

This bear behaves aggressively and a seeming psychopath , and while horror takes over his squad and kills his teammates one by one, he grabs increasingly influence personally, via progressively violent, damaging approaches.

Meanwhile, the horned creatures are enduring their own horror, in the form of a growing, destructive monster in their woods.

“In the early stages, it appears as a humorous movie,” the filmmaker commented. “Yet it turns into a more serious and sad film. And in the finale, it transforms into a horror film.”

Unicorn Wars starts out resembling one of the more playful films from an iconic animator, which find a wicked pleasure in allowing drawn beings curse, shoot each other, or engage sexually.

Then it turns into more akin to a bleaker film from the same creator, with increasingly explicit brutality , a tangible link to genuine tragedy of conflict.

In the finale, it becomes a complete theatrical horror massacre.

The horror that makes the film an ideal spooky-season movie begins well before than indicated.

Unicorn Wars is one for the most dedicated fans of gore, for lovers of graphic films who wish to view something they have not watched previously, and can endure a narrative that offers unflinching brutality.

View it with the lights off free from interruptions, and the finale will burrow deep within you and take up residence there.
