Trent Alexander-Arnold's recovery is advancing well, giving a chance that the Madrid defender may recover in time to confront his former team Liverpool in November's Champions League match.

The English player sustained a hamstring strain while playing against French side Marseille in the group stage of the tournament on September 16.

Alexander-Arnold had to leave the pitch in the fifth minute, with early reports suggesting a possible absence of around a month and a half.

Real Madrid are scheduled to face Liverpool on November 4 for the Champions League match—just seven weeks after the incident took place.

Reports familiar with the situation suggest that the player's healing process is moving along well, and there is optimism that Alexander-Arnold could make his initial comeback to Anfield since moving to Real Madrid in June.

A longtime Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold previously remarked that leaving the team he joined as a six-year-old youth player was the "most difficult choice he has ever taken."

During his spell with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold notched 354 games, helping secure two English top-flight titles, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.

Since moving to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has appeared on five occasions across all competitions, logging 156 minutes of game time.
